Cable Technician Job Summary
We are seeking an organized, reliable, and driven cable technician to work as part of our field service team to install, troubleshoot, and repair various voice and data cables for commercial environments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality service and excited by complex problems and challenges.
Cable Technician Duties and Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair cable systems, most often involved with data networks, camera systems, and access control systems
Test and troubleshoot issues with network communication
Conduct thorough inspections of cable lines to ensure the system is working correctly
Pull, route, or label low voltage cabling
Install various support structures, including cable racks, j-hooks, innerduct, and other related structures
Communicate and collaborate with other members of the field service team to resolve complex issues
Provide high-quality service to all customers
Cable Technician Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
Communication skills with the ability to successfully collaborate with the team
Solid problem solving capabilities
Commitment to abiding by OSHA and all other safety standards and procedures
Ability to identify different colors and learn color codes
Ability to work at heights and lift 50+ pounds
